New Delhi: Bharti Airtel said on Tuesday that it will offer superior and more consistent network experience to post-paid users, leveraging the network slicing technology offered by standalone 5G architecture that the telecom operator is rolling out across India.

Network slicing is a feature of 5G technology that allows telecom operators to create multiple virtual networks from a single physical network where each slice operates as its own end-to-end network, customised for either bandwidth, latency, or speed. The dedicated network slice will be accessible to existing post-paid customers in a staggered rollout.

The priority service is targeted at the telecom operator's post-paid users, who currently account for about 7.75% of its 373 million mobile users in India.

ET was the first to report on the telecom operator working on network-slicing based plans for customers in its May 6 edition.
