Airtel, BSNL extend validity of low-ARPU prepaid customers
Bharti Airtel and state-run BSNL have extended the pre-paid pack validity for their low-ARPU customers, and given a talktime credit of Rs 10 to ensure continuous connectively during the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
The special measures are aimed to help under-priviledged customers, primarily migrant workers overcome communication challenges posed by Covid-19 lockdown.
"Airtel is committed to ensuring all people remain connected without any disruptions it is critical to take care of the underprivileged daily wage earners of our country, whose lives have been disrupted due to the lockdown," said Shashwat Sharma, chief marketing officer, in a statement on Monday. Airtel's announcement came hours after BSNL extended the validity free of charge to ensure its customers whose recharge validity periods expired during the lockdown.
