Jio on Monday announced a new broadband "backup" plan, promising always on connectivity and uninterrupted streaming.

The announcement comes just days ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League, which is set to stream on JioCinema. Jio says the new plan will be available starting March 30, just one day before the start of the tournament.

"This new concept of a back-up connection allows homes to have an alternate broadband connectivity with an assured supply of data at an affordable price. Customers can seamlessly upgrade to higher speeds," says a press release from the telecom major.
