Telecom companies to start mobile connectivity services on Airport Metro Express line

Airport Metro Express commuters can now hope for uninterrupted mobile connectivity throughout their journey.

NEW DELHI: Airport Metro Express commuters can now hope for uninterrupted mobile connectivity throughout their journey with major telecom companies planning to start services.

Till now, only Reliance customers were able to use their phones on the 23-km corridor that is operated by Reliance Infrastructure.

Now, Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel and Idea will launch their services to provide uninterrupted mobile connectivity throughout the Airport Express line and its stations.

The required telecom infrastructure at Reliance Metro stations and the corridor has been made ready for operations by Reliance itself, unlike other metro operations where telecom service providers had to create the passive infrastructure, a Reliance Infra spokesman said.

"A complete bouquet of RCom, Vodafone, Airtel, Idea and Aircel services will now be available at all our stations and inside the train for the benefit of commuters," the spokesman said.
