Tech Mahindra bags Digicel's cellular services contract

NEW DELHI: It’s raining deals for Tech Mahindra. Close on the heels of winning the $20-m contract for building and maintaining the Hutch network in Indonesia, the company has won a similar project from Caribbean’s largest mobile service provider Digicel.

Sources, said Tech Mahindra will provide the platform for running mobile virtual network operator services. Earlier, Tech Mahindra had signed an agreement with Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for providing solutions for delivery of matches on mobile handsets.

As per the contract, Tech Mahindra will provide integrated management systems to Digicel, which along with Cable and Wireless are the leading service providers in Caribbean. Additionally, the deal will also see Tech Mahindra provide billing and customer relationship management solutions to Digicel, sources added.

Company executives refused to comment on the Digicel deal size, sources said it was similar to the Hutch-Indonesia deal.
