NEW DELHI: CDMA operator Tata Teleservices today welcomed TRAI's recommendations on allocation of spectrum for 3G services and said the regulator has maintained a technology-neutral approach on the issue.
The company CEO Darryl Green in a statement said, the recommendations are fair to all participants and are progressive in nature.
The recommendations on pricing and auction of spectrum clearly establish that it is recognized as a scarce resource and must be utilized efficiently, he said.
TRAI's proposal on vacating spectrum in order to re-farm GSM operations and in the process allocate additional spectrum in the 800MHz band for CDMA players is a much needed and eagerly-awaited solution and we welcome that move, Green said.
However, COAI and AUSPI were not available for comments.
