Tata Docomo unveils Wi-Fi-enabled Walky device

The Tata Photon Walky works both as a landline and Wi-Fi hotspot and can connect up to five devices at the same time, the company in a statement said.

NEW DELHI: Tata Docomo, a flagship brand of Tata Teleservices, Monday launched a Wi-Fi-capable Tata Photon Walky device.

The Tata Photon Walky works both as a landline and Wi-Fi hotspot and can connect up to five devices at the same time, the company in a statement said.

Priced at Rs 2099, the device comes with a monthly tariff plan starting from Rs 499 for 3 GB data and 300 local or STD minutes going up to Rs 999 for 8 GB data and 1000 local or STD minutes for post-pay users.

The new device is portable and can be carried anywhere and supports data download speed of up to 3.2 Mbps.

"Tata Photon Walky is a unique device that will give the wireless landline users an opportunity to surf internet by creating a simultaneous Wi-Fi hotspot," Gurinder Singh Sandhu, Head - Marketing, Mobility, Tata Docomo said.
