Tata Communications inks pact with Orange International Carriers

Tata Communications and Orange International Carriers today announced an agreement to interconnect their respective IP-exchange communities for voice over IPX.

MUMBAI: Tata Communications and Orange International Carriers today announced an agreement to interconnect their respective IP-exchange communities for voice over IPX and signalling Sigtran which allows IP networks to inter-work with the public switched telephone network.

"IPX peering between global players facilitates the widespread international adoption of the platform and associated new services such as HD Voice and Roaming," said Alexandre Pebereau, executive vice president, international carriers, Orange.

"We encourage mobile operators to move quickly to make the transition to a multi-service IPX solution, he said.

"By interconnecting our VoIPX network with Orange, we continue to expand our long-term relationship with a strategic partner", said Michel Guyot, president, global voice solutions, Tata Communications.
