Secure Phone for classified communication from June

NEW DELHI: The government plans to introduce Secure Phone, which has special security feature for intra-governmental classified communications, from June, Parliament was informed on Wednesday.

"C-DOT has developed Secure Phone for intra governmental classified communications, which will provide end to end encryption for security of the communication. The phones are planned to be introduced from June 2012," Minister of State for Communications and IT Milind Deora informed Lok Sabha.

He added that these phone are proposed to be allotted based on the requirement of the user ministry, department and state government, and in consultation with Ministry of Home Affairs.
