SC directs MoF to hold meeting on NPA

The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Ministry of Finance to hold a meeting of its officials to inform what steps it will take for the recovery of the Non Performing Assets.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Ministry of Finance to hold a meeting of its officials to inform what steps it will take for the recovery of the Non Performing Assets.
A bench headed by chief justice Y K Sabharwal passed the order to this effect as the Ministry of Finance failed to file an affidavit in this regard despite the order being passed eight months ago.
The court directed the ministry to hold a meeting on Aug 10 at the Solicitor General's office.
The court said the affidavit has to be filed by the end of August.
