Samsung aims at 15% of cell handset market
The mobile phone unit of Samsung Electronics aims to double its share of the Indian GSM mobile phone market to 15% in the next 8-10 months, Samsung Mobile country head Sunil Dutt said on Wednesday.

Samsung Innov8, which is being positioned as the "ultimate mobile entertainer."
"India has the second largest market for mobile subscribers after China and from the next billion mobile phone consumers globally, India is expected to contribute 250 mn.
The market size for GSM and CDMA mobile phones in India is 100-110 mn in 2008 and will grow to 150 mn by 2010, with 50% coming from the replacement market," Mr Dutt said.
Finnish giant Nokia controls nearly 60% of the market for mobile handsets in India, followed by Sony Ericsson with 8% share and Samsung at 7%, according to market research firm ORG.
It has also committed to expand its after-sales service channel by over 60%.
