Reliance Jio Infocomm to invest Rs 3000 crore in West Bengal

KOLKATA: Reliance Industries' telecom arm, Reliance Jio Infocomm, will invest 7,000 crore in rolling out 4G networks in eastern and northeastern states, of which 3,000 crore will flow into West Bengal, a top company executive said here on Wednesday.
The telco plans to simultaneously launch fourth-generation services in Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Jamnagar by the year-end.
Over the next six months, Reliance Jio will commission a 5500-km optic fibre network across West Bengal, of which about 1500 km will be leased from Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications (RCom) as part of a recent telecom infrastructure-sharing pact between the Ambani brothers.
