Reliance Communications restores partial network in worst-hit south Kashmir

In a statement issued on Thursday, RCOM said that through its roaming arrangements with other operators in the region, its subscribers can now able to access services via more than 100 base terminal stations.

NEW DELHI: Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Communications (RCOM) that has close to eight-lakh subscribers in flood-hit Jammu&Kashmir has restored four base terminal stations in worst-hit South Kashmir area.

In a statement issued on Thursday, RCOM said that through its roaming arrangements with other operators in the region, its subscribers can now able to access services via more than 100 base terminal stations.

In addition, the company’s wireless network is up and running at all relief camp sites in the Srinagar area, a company spokesperson said, adding that the telco's network and technology teams are working closely with state authorities and paramilitary forces to restore other sites.

RCOM is now offering free calls (three-minute duration) from its public booths at relief camps across J&K.
