One97 Communications invests Rs 3.6cr in TMG Singapore
One97 Communications on Tuesday said it has invested SGD 1 million (about Rs 3.6 crore) in Singapore-based TheMobileGamer (TMG).
One97 said the investment is part of plans to expand in South East Asia, and the move will also help TMG in increasing their services.
The Indian firm invests in early stage mobile companies out of its One97 Mobility Fund worth USD 100 million.
TMG is a publisher of mobile social games like Club Wars, Monster Fight and Fun Factory. It licences and develops games that are localised and distributed through various networks and operators in South East Asia.
"We are excited to join the One97 family and to work together with them in becoming the market leader for mobile social games in Asia," Alvin Yap, CEO of TMG said in a statement.
One97 CMD Vijay Shekhar Sharma said, "Alvin and his team have shown their creativity and passion in launching addictive games on social platforms in South East Asia. We are very delighted to be part of the success of TMG."
