Nokia may open flagship stores in India, Singapore, Jakarta
Nokia, the world's biggest mobile-phone maker, said it may open retail outlets in India, Singapore and Jakarta to help lift revenue in Asia, its biggest region by sales.
Store locations have been scouted in Singapore and Jakarta, while Nokia is considering a store in either Mumbai or Delhi, Dennis Chau, senior retail manager for Asia, said at the opening of Nokia's store in Shanghai, the first in China.
Nokia has opened seven so-called flagship outlets, and the China store will support the Asia-Pacific region where the company sold 43 per cent of its handsets in the third quarter.
