Nokia appoints Samar Mittal, Vibha Mehra to lead India operations
New leadership structure aims to sharpen strategy and deepen market presence
The appointments are part of a revised leadership structure aimed at strengthening Nokia’s presence in India and sharpening its business focus, the company said on Thursday.
Mittal will be responsible for executing the company’s go-to-market strategy and shaping its engagement with telecom operators, AI and cloud providers, and mission-critical enterprises. He will also focus on strengthening partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and aligning the company’s portfolio with evolving market needs.
He was previously vice-president at Nokia, where he led the cloud and network services business across the Middle East and Africa. He has nearly three decades of experience in telecom and IT and has held multiple sales leadership roles in India, Malaysia and Dubai.
Mehra will lead Nokia’s overall presence in India, overseeing communications strategy and government and public relations. She will also drive site strategy, people initiatives and corporate social responsibility priorities.
She earlier served as vice-president for government relations at Nokia, leading the company’s geopolitics and government relations function across the Asia Pacific. She has more than 26 years of experience, including roles at Microsoft, Intel and TCS.
The company said the appointments reflect its long-term commitment to India and its ambition to play a larger role in advancing a digital, sustainable and efficient ecosystem.
