NO unsolicited calls from Sept 5
Finally some respite for mobile phone users from unsolicited calls from banks and service providers .
Additional Solicitor General P P Malhotra told the court that the guidelines and regulations relating to stopping such calls being made by various banks and mobile service providers to cell phone users across the country would be in place by August 31 and operational from September 5. The ‘National Do-Not-Call Registry’, as the checks and rules will be called, will be in line with those in western countries, he said, maintaining that they were being formulated to prevent unwanted calls.
