Neeraj Mittal appointed as Department of Telecommunications secretary

The government has appointed Neeraj Mittal as the new Department of Telecommunications (DoT) secretary. An IAS of 92 batch, he is presently working in his cadre of Tamil Nadu.

Mittal is taking charge as DoT secretary at a time when the government is working on finalising the telecom bill and take key decisions around allocation of satellite spectrum.

Information and broadcasting secretary Apurva Chandra was overseeing the work of DoT as additional charge for the past few weeks.


Apart from that, Additional secretary DoT VL Kantha Rao as been been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Mines.
