N Srinath new MD of VSNL

Mumbai: Tata-owned Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) has appointed executive director N Srinath as MD of the company and CEO of the VSNL Group of companies. VSNLboard of directors took the decision at a meeting held on Friday.

In his earlier capacity as ED, Mr Srinath was responsible for the re-engineering of VSNL's business model to meet the challenges in a de-regulated market place.

He played a pivotal role in VSNL���s acquisition of TGN and Teleglobe in 2005-06, VSNL said in a statement in Mumbai. Besides India, VSNL has operations in the US, UK, the United Arab Emir-ates, Canada, South Africa, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
