MTS to send 35 lakh SMSes to non-DND nos for polio awareness

NEW DELHI: MTS India, a brand of Sistema Shyam Teleservices, today said it will send out 35 lakh SMSes on numbers not registered under do-not-disturb list to create awareness on polio eradication across three states - Delhi, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.

"As the telecom partner for the campaign, the company will be sending over specially designed SMSes to more than 3.5 million MTS subscribers across Delhi, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh (West)," MTS India's Chief Operating Officer for Delhi Circle, KV Ramachandra said in a statement.

However, the SMSes will not be sent on numbers registered under do-not-disturb list, a company official said.

The company has also been associated with IUEPN (India Unite to End Polio Now) campaign since last three years.
