MTNL says not shutting down CDMA business

MUMBAI: MTNL said it has no plans to shut down its CDMA business, which has a subscriber base of over one lakh in Delhi and 50,000 in Mumbai.

Responding to news reports, MTNL chairman and managing director AK Garg said the company has no plans to shut down its CDMA business.

"However, since it clashes with our GSM business, we don't intend to focus on it. So, we intend to partner with other telecom operators to share our network infrastructure. We will take a decision on the matter in two months," he said.
