Mobile VAS provider MobME partners with Gemalto, Valimo

NEW DELHI: Mobile value added services provider MobME Wireless has partnered with European entities -- Gemalto and Valimo -- to provide mobile authentication services that would ensure safe transactions.

The Netherlands-based Gemalto offers products related to digital security while Finland's Valimo Wireless Oy is a software solutions provider for mobile authentication.

"With over 900 million mobile phone subscribers and 15 million broadband users, the mobile phone is the preferred platform for maximising the potential of digital signatures for a digital revolution in India," MobMe CEO Sanjay Vijayakumar said in a statement.

Digital signatures provide high security and legal validity for digital transactions.

"The biggest beneficiary of mobile digital signatures would be mobile governance services, as all government services need signature by citizens while sending their applications to any government department," it said.
