India's mobile growth story could get affected by limited spectrum and falling ARPUs, according to a report.

NEW DELHI: India's mobile growth story could get affected by limited spectrum and falling ARPUs, according to a report.

Despite falling prices, broadband growth in the country has not taken off and Internet and broadband subscribers have fallen short of targets, a CII-BDA joint report 'Wireless India: Catalysing Next Wave in Economic Growth' said.

India's competitiveness is slipping as a result of poor ICT infrastructure and is ranked 57th in area of connectivity and technology infrastructure.

"Mobile growth has transformed India's telecom markets by delivering all round value. Three forces that have driven mobile growth, within a supportive regulatory climate, are competition, utility and affordability," BDA Chairman Duncan Clark said.

He said a green field 3G rollout is more efficient than two separate networks for voice and broadband data.
