Manoj Kohli to head Bharti's Africa operations: Mittal

Bharti Group Chairman Sunil Mittal on Tuesday said that there was no financial constrain on account of $10.7 billion deal to acquire Kuwaiti telco Zain's African operations and nominated his top lieutenant Manoj Kohli to head this.

NEW DELHI: Bharti Group Chairman Sunil Mittal on Tuesday said that there was no financial constrain on account of $10.7 billion deal to acquire Kuwaiti telco Zain's African operations and nominated his top lieutenant Manoj Kohli to head this.

"We have taken a debt of $8.3 billion and shall try to reduce it on our balance sheets....but there is no hurry... we are comfortable financially," Mittal told reporters from Amsterdam shortly after announcing the deal.

He named Manoj Kohli, CEO, international, and joint MD Bharti Airtel, to head the African venture.
