Kumar Mangalam Birla appointed Vodafone Idea's Non-Executive Chairman; Ravinder Takkar steps down

Kumar Mangalam Birla has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Vodafone Idea Limited's Board of Directors with effect from May 5, 2026, the telecom company informed stock exchanges on Tuesday.

The board accepted the request of Ravinder Takkar to step down as Non-Executive Chairman of the board, also effective May 5, 2026. Takkar, who continues as a Non-Executive Director on the board, has been appointed Non-Executive Vice Chairman of Vodafone Idea Limited with effect from the same date.

Birla, who holds the Director Identification Number 00012813, was already a Non-Executive Director on the company's board prior to this appointment. Takkar, who holds DIN 01719511, also continues in his directorial capacity.


The company made the disclosure pursuant to Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The intimation was filed with both the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited.

As per the exchange filing, neither Birla nor Takkar is related to any other director of the company.
