Jio Platforms names Dan Bailey President to lead global push

Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) has appointed veteran investment banker Dan Bailey as President to spearhead its international business initiatives, marking the company’s first international leadership appointment.

Based in London, Bailey will report to Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, and join Jio Platforms’ Executive Committee. His appointment signals a strategic push to take Jio’s digital infrastructure and platform capabilities to global markets. Bailey brings over 35 years of experience across consulting and investment banking.

He has held senior leadership roles at Schroders/Citi, Morgan Stanley, and HSBC, and most recently served as Chairman of Deutsche Bank’s technology, media and telecom (TMT) practice.


India’s largest private telecom company Jio, had stated the vision at its recent annual general meeting to extend its footprint beyond India. Besides telecom connectivity, Jio has built an digital services ecosystem across devices, platforms, applications and content. The company now aims to export that playbook internationally.
