Idea,Huawei join hands for commercial optic fibre network deployment

Telecom operator Idea Cellular, and Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei today jointly announced the successful commercial deployment of latest optical fibre.

NEW DELHI: Telecom operator Idea Cellular, and Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei today jointly announced the successful commercial deployment of latest optical fibre that supports data transmission of up to 8 terrabit of per second.

"With 100G DWDM system...Idea is geared up for the data explosion in coming years. Idea has always been leading in new technologies' deployment and this is one more example of the same." Idea Cellular Chief Technology Officer Anil Tandon said in a statement.

DWDM is latest technology for deployment of optical fibre network for transmission of data vital for telecom and broadband services.
