Hutch users can now blacklist callers
Hutch subscribers pan-India can now blacklist numbers on their cellphones on both prepaid and postpaid connections.
Vodafone Essar on Wednesday launched a first of its kind 'call filter service' for the 32.4 million Hutch subscribers across all its 16 circles.
What's more, you don't need a smartphone to do this. The service can be activated on any plain vanilla cellphone and it will be available to both postpaid and prepaid subscribers, company officials said.
"This service is the company's next step after the 'Do Not Disturb' initiative to protect the privacy of our subscribers," Vodafone Essar director (marketing & new business) Harit Nagpal said.
However, the subscribers will need to shell out a monthly rental of Rs 99 to avail the service and also pay 50 paise per minute for the manual activation process. To activate the call filter service, a Hutch user needs to call '55144’ or dial '*514#'.
