Hughes Communications bags Rs 40-cr order from SBI

Hughes Communications, global provider of broadband satellite services, today said it has bagged a Rs 40-crore project from State Bank of India to deploy core banking solutions across its 1,300 branches.

NEW DELHI: Hughes Communications, global provider of broadband satellite services, today said it has bagged a Rs 40-crore project from State Bank of India to deploy core banking solutions across its 1,300 branches.

Under the contract, Hughes would deploy sophisticated satellite broadband network for core banking solutions for SBI across 700 cities in the country, the company said in a statement.

The project is expected to be completed by February, 2008 on a fast track basis.

Hughes would offer turnkey solutions such as satellite based VPNs, networking equipment -- routers and switches and managed services including system integration and network management, as a part of the project.
