Huawei Technologies relocates 350 employees
Huawei said it has relocated 350 employees to work on international project over the last three to four months, amid speculations that it is reducing 10% of its work force.
According to two senior executives, Huawei's India arm had already handed out pink slips to 300 employees in different departments including sales, services (network and deployment) and enterprise, and had also identified an equal number for future retrenchment, but the company denied this.
"Huawei remains confident about India market despite the current business downturn and uncertainty and we are reposing our faith in all our India employees and have been minimising the impact of restructuring by providing global deployment opportunities. Huawei India is the only company among the various multi-national telecom vendor community in India to create two new HR platforms wherein almost 350 Indian employees have been relocated to provide solutions and services to global clients," the company said in a statement.
