Free Insurance cover for BSNL subscriber

CHANDIGARH: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Punjab circle today said that it would offer free insurance coverage up to Rs. 50,000 to its subscribers in case of accidental death or permanent disability because of accident.

Stating this in a release issued here, BSNL, Punjab circle, Chief General Manager, S.R. Aggarwal said, "the insurance coverage scheme will be applicable for the subscribers of landline including WLL and postpaid Cellular services. However, this scheme will not be applicable for subscribers under government, PSU, corporate customers, NGO, PCO etc."

He said that this scheme would cover about 16 lakh customers in Punjab telecom circle.

Under this scheme, the capital sum insured per connection is Rs. 50,000. "If a customer has four connections like two landline phones, one WLL and one cellone then total insurance coverage will be Rs. 2 lakh," he said.

All claims would be settled by Bajaj Allianze Insurance Company within 14 working days from date of receipt of complete documents, he said.
