New Delhi: Delhi-based standalone internet service provider Excitel Broadband reported its first-ever annual net profit after a decade of operations in FY2026, driven by a sharp focus on dense urban markets and state capitals where data demand remains high, amid intense competition from larger telecom operators such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, which are expanding their home broadband base.

The ISP reported a net profit of ₹40 crore on the back of ₹530 crore in revenue, CEO Varun Pasricha told ET, bucking the trend of smaller, local ISPs facing an existential threat from larger players with deeper pockets.

Pasricha said standalone internet service providers are relying on faster internet speeds, enhanced indoor connectivity and quicker resolution of issues to compete against Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, which together control around 66% of the home broadband market.
