EADS to install Tetra radio network for AP police
European defence and aerospace consortium EADS will install the Tetra radio network in Hyderabad to provide a high-tech communication system to the security forces.
The EADS has teamed up with Sanchar Telesystems to provide the local police a complete end-to-end GPS based digital communication solution providing best in class voice and data communication application, EADS' head of communications Theodor Benien told the media at the ongoing Defence Expo here.
"This solution will enable security forces to cover and protect the sixth largest metropolitan city of the country. The city is a modern hub for IT, and IT enabled services and biotechnology and contributing a lot for the current great economic growth of India," he said.
The contract is considered as a real breakthrough for EADS in the Indian market as the country is going through major investment in infrastructure to address and compliment its economic growth.
The Andhra Pradesh Police has chosen the EADS after extensive tests and demonstration to supply, implement and commission this mission critical state-of-the-art digital communication network.
The new communication system will upgrade the city's police capabilities and enable better coverage and protection.
