Dhanus Tech secures DoT license

Gurgaon-based global telecommunications company, Dhanus Technologies on Tuesday said it has become the first company in the country to secure a license from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for its Vehicle Tracking Service, FleeTrac.

CHENNAI: Gurgaon-based global telecommunications company, Dhanus Technologies on Tuesday said it has become the first company in the country to secure a license from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for its Vehicle Tracking Service, FleeTrac.
FleeTrac is an advanced asset tracking service for remote monitoring and tracking of vehicles, company Srivasthan Vice President - Sales and Marketing - Vallabhan said here.
This would help increase fleet productivity, reduce fleet costs and provide voice and data communication with the vehicle drivers anywhere in the country, in the language of their choice.
Vallabhan said, FleeTrac goes beyond mere Vehicle Tracking and monitors fuel consumption, seat belt and panic button alerts that alerts the control room in case of distress situations.
The company was the only one offering vehicle tracking as a service unlike others, who offer it as a product.
"This will help in reducing costs to just about 10 per cent of the total product cost, which might be anywhere around Rs two crore," he said.
The system, which works via a GPS (Global Positioning System), will enable reports on trip logs, route maps and usage alerts, and can be accessed through a secure, password-protected website.
The system can give location of a vehicle within a radius of about 10 metres, he said.
