Court to decide on charges in 2G scam today
A Delhi special court will decide on framing charges against all the 17 accused, including A Raja, RK Chandolia and Kanimozhi, in 2G case on Saturday.
Last week, CBI Special Judge OP Saini said he had reserved the order on the framing of charges till October 22. The process involves the court deciding if there is sufficient prima facie evidence against each of the accused to be put on trial. This is a crucial stage in a criminal trial, as it would form the bedrock of future court proceedings in one of the biggest corruption scandals in India.
The order would determine charges against each of the accused, a first step before formal proceedings in a criminal trial are initiated. Charges are framed based on evidence made available to the court.
