BSNL Kerala launches multi-lingual SMS service

Public sector telecom major BSNL has launched its multi-lingual SMS service in Kerala circle, enabling its mobile phone customers to send messages in regional languages.

THIRUVANTHAPURAM: Public sector telecom major BSNL has launched its multi-lingual SMS service in Kerala circle, enabling its mobile phone customers to send messages in regional languages.
The application, which enables most of the basic handset models to send and receive messages in regional languages, was developed by Geneva Messages Service, BSNL Kerala Circle Chief General Manager S R Pillai told newsmen here.
At present, the new messaging service is available in Assamese, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi and Telugu.
BSNL has over 19.58 lakh connections in Kerala, Pillai said.
