Bharti Airtel's Nigeria subsidiary bags three awards

LAGOS: Telecom giant Bharti Airtel's Nigeria subsidiary has clinched all the three annual industry awards, on the back of strong customer service and innovative product offerings in the country.

Airtel Nigeria won the Most Innovative Telecom Company of the Year, Telecom Brand of the year and Customer Friendly Operator of the year at the eighth edition of the 'Nigerian Telecommunications Awards'.

Held here on Saturday, the awards are aimed at rewarding industry operators for their products and services.

Airtel emerged overall best in the three categories following its enviable strides in charting new paths in meeting the demands and needs of its esteemed stakeholders through superior brand experience, a rich portfolio of innovative products and services ranging from exciting voice solutions to inventive data packages and mobile broadband, the citation for the award said.

Airtel was especially commended for delighting "telecom consumers in Nigeria with pocket-friendly and innovative offerings, bonuses, and exceptional customer relations policy".

This is the third time Airtel Nigeria has ranked numero uno in the customer service category at the Nigerian Telecoms Awards.

Rajan Swaroop, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, said the awards were a testimony to the enterprising and resilient spirit of staff of the company.
