Bharti Airtel wins Asia top treasury team award for 2015

KOLKATA: Bharti Airtel, the world’s third largest mobile carrier with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, said its treasury division has been adjudged winner of the top treasury team (Asia) awards at the Adam Smith Asia Awards 2015.

Airtel's treasury division was also overall winner of the Adam Smith Asia Award 2015 in the first class relationship management category, where Airtel has been recognised for fostering strong relationships across the ecosystem, lenders across banks, NBFCs & multilateral agencies as well as rating agencies, debt & equity investors and analysts.

The Adam Smith Awards are recognised globally as the top benchmark for achievement in strategies of treasury management that showcase the industry’s best and brightest and demonstrate exceptional innovation in the Asia corporate treasury arena. For this year’s Awards, over 200 nominations were received from a broad range of companies in terms of size and industry sector, with every major country and territory of the Asia-Pacific region represented.

Bharti Airtel’s group treasury had been earlier recognised as the ‘Top Treasury Team, Asia’ Award at the 2014 Euro Finance Treasury Awards for Excellence in Asia, ‘Top Treasury Team Asia 2014’ at the Adam Smith Awards Asia 2014 apart from being the Highly Commended Winner of the “Best Financing Solution” Category in the same year.
