Bharti Airtel tops with 2.90 million new subscribers added in March

NEW DELHI: Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti Airtel added 2.90 million new subscribers, followed by Aditya Birla group's Idea Cellular (2.35 million) and Vodafone India (1.36 million), GSM group Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) said on Tuesday.

Bharti Airtel with a maximum number of telecom subscriber additions in March takes its consumer base to a total of 226.02 million.

In March, the consumer base increased by 1.17% from the previous month to 8.19 million, taking India’s GSM base to 705.20 million, the COAI in a statement said.

The Bihar circle added a maximum number of connections (1.16 million) during March, while UP (East) tops in total subscriber base with 62.79 million GSM customers.
