Bharti Airtel launches new Africa network

Named “Africa Connect”, the network is expected to contribute to the growth of internet and data services in Africa.

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel has launched a network based on satellite and optical fibre aimed at increasing Africa’s connectivity with the rest of the world and to add to data carriage capacity in the continent.

Named “Africa Connect”, the network is expected to contribute to the growth of internet and data services in Africa. The new network has an integrated fibre and satellite network with 42 Points of Presence (PoP) spread across the 17 African countries that Bharti Airtel has a presence in.
