Bharti Airtel gives IP contract to Alcatel Lucent India

Bharti Airtel has given a three-year contract to Alcatel Lucent India for setting up an IP access network across the country, for an undisclosed amount.

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel has given a three-year contract to Alcatel Lucent India for setting up an internet protocol (IP) access network across the country, for an undisclosed amount, the companies said on Thursday.

Simply put, Alcatel Lucent is creating a mobile backhaul for Bharti Airtel by which the telco will be able to provide faster mobile broadband speeds to consumers. The technology would allow consumers to browse internet at much faster speeds and get better quality broadband service on mobile phones.
