BenQ and Geodesic tie-up

BenQ phones released in 2007 will be Mundu-enabled. Mundu is a combination of two things.

MUMBAI: BenQ phones released in 2007 will be Mundu-enabled. Mundu is a combination of two things — internet radio and an instant messaging service. The BenQ user will therefore have access to hundreds of radio stations and chat with friends who are using services like ICQ, MSN and Yahoo chat.

The Mundu software is made by Geodesic Information Systems, a software product developer. Kiran Kulkarni, managing director of Geodesic said, "BenQ's global reach in wireless handsets will help us expand the user base of Mundu, thus creating revenue opportunities for both companies."

The two companies will jointly promote the bundled products and are yet to announce the schedule for release. The application, Mundu, would be bundled on select models and would be available online for other models.
