Batcha was a suspect in 2G scam

NEW DELHI: Sadiq Batcha, a businessman and a close associate of former Telecom Minister A Raja, who allegedly committed suicide today, was a suspect in the 2G spectrum case.

Top sources in CBI said Batcha, who was questioned by it four times in connection with the 2G scam, was a suspect but was cooperating in the probe.

Agency sources said that they believe that Batcha was aware of several transactions related to the scam and could have been more useful during prosecution.
