NEW DELHI: US-based Andrew Telecommunications is planning to increase the number of employees in India to 400 from 250.
The company had recently invested 7 million dollars to set up its facility in Goa in January this year.
"We will increase the number of our employees to 400 from currently 250 by the end of this year. We have already invested 7 million dollars in our Goa facility and will continue to invest in the country to expand our presence here," Andrew Telecommunications India Country Head Navin Vohra said.
He said the company would further invest in India based on the market demands.
Andrew Telecommunications posted global revenues of 2.5 billion dollar in 2006 (October- September) with Asia Pacific including India contributing 15 per cent to it.
Declining to give the exact Indian revenues, Vohra said: "the contribution of the Indian market to the total revenues is in double digits in percentage terms".
The newly-built second facility in Goa would serve the various original equipment manufacturers and network operators in this rapidly growing market. The customers can now benefit from reduced freight and inventory costs, faster delivery time and customer support.
The company enjoys about 70 per cent market share in the cable segment and over 50 per cent share in the antenna sector.
"We will definitely maintain and try to increase our share in the Indian market, he said.
