Airtel, Vodafone launch BlackBerry Pearl in India

Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced the launch of a new high-end mobile phone - BlackBerry Pearl 8120 in partnership with Research in Motion (RIM), which would cost Rs 24,990.

NEW DELHI: Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced the launch of a new high-end mobile phone - BlackBerry Pearl 8120 in partnership with Research in Motion (RIM), which would cost Rs 24,990.

The phone is aimed at corporate users, Bharti said in a statement.

Another telecom major Vodafone-Essar also launched the same model today.

The Blackberry Pearl has powerful voice and data features along with a 2 mega pixel camera with support for video capture, an enhanced visual interface, hardware refinements and 3.5 mm stereo headset jack. It has Wi-Fi connectivity support and can access up to 10 supported email accounts using internet service.
