Airtel tops with 3.07 million new connections in February

In February, GSM connections rose by 1.40%?, or 9.59 million?, over ?the ?previous month, taking ?the ?country’s subscriber base to 697.01 million.

NEW DELHI: Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti Airtel has added 3.07 million subscribers in February, followed by Aditya Birla group’s Idea Cellular (2.70 million) and Vodafone India (1.95 million), GSM lobby group Cellular Operators Association of India ( COAI) Monday said.

In February, GSM connections rose by 1.40%?, or 9.59 million?, over ?the ?previous month, taking ?the ?country’s subscriber base to 697.01 million.

Airtel remains on top with 223.12 million subscribers while Vodafone No. 2 with 182.44 million?, and Idea Cellular?, with 155.45 million?, at third place.

UP East had the largest 61.97 million connections.
