Airtel slashes ISD rates for calls to Kenya
Country's largest cellular company Bharti Airtel has decided to slash ISD rates to Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
In a statement made here, the telecom service provider announced the reduction in ISD rates from January 3-6 for all its mobile customers in Gujarat
Customers can call Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for as low as Rs 4.60 per minute, a reduction of 50 per cent from the earlier rate of Rs 9.20 per minute, the statement said.
"There are about 43,000 Gujaratis in Nairobi and about 3,000 in Kisumu. With the rising tension in Kenya, Airtel prays for their well-being and has extended a helping hand to dissolve boundaries and bring people closer by connecting with their near and dear ones", it said.
Kenya, which has a significant population of Gujaratis, is gripped in post-poll violence.
