CHANDIGARH: Telecom services provider Bharti Airtel on Thursday announced the launch of a mobile back-up service, which will allow subscribers to create a back-up for their phone data.

The 'Airtel Mobile Phone Back-up Service', which has been started in Punjab, safeguards the data of a customer's mobile phone including contacts, calendar, SMS, photos, videos and music, depending on the phone model of the subscriber, the company said in statement.

"It copies the data in a secure manner to Airtel's Mobile Phone Backup system and enables the customer to restore the saved data on his new or existing phone, whenever the need arises," it said.

The service would be available for both GPRS and non-GPRS phones, the statement said, adding that the monthly subscription charges for the service is Rs 30.
