Airtel crosses three million mobile customer base in Delhi
New Delhi: Airtel has crossed the three million mobile customer base in Delhi and with the increase in subscriber base it plans to increase cell sites by over 30 per cent in the next fiscal from the current 2300.
Airtel is the first mobile operator to complete this milestone in the Capital, a company statement said.
The company currently has over 2300 cell sites in Delhi and the NCR region and plans to increase its number of cell sites by approximately 30 per cent. It also plans to increase its number of Airtel relationship centres by 20 per cent from the present 65. Airtel also has close to 15,000 retail outlets.
Christopher Tobit, CEO, Airtel Delhi circle, (Mobility) Bharti Airtel Limited said, "The 3-million mark is a testimony to the quality of services that we offer to all our customers in Delhi. Delhi is a special market for us because of it being the first city where we launched our cellular services.
