Aircel to cover more than 100 towns in J-K

Cellular company Aircel, which launched services in Kashmir valley and Jammu division, said it would cover more than 100 towns and over 1,500 km of the state.

JAMMU: Cellular company Aircel, which launched services in Kashmir valley and Jammu division, said it would cover more than 100 towns and over 1,500 km of state and national highways in the Jammu and Kashmir telecom circle.
Aircel, with more than 3.6 million customers in Tamil Nadu and north-east circles, has committed an investment of over Rs 125 crore for the J&K telecom circle to build quality GSM network infrastructure to provide better services to people in the state, its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) north and east zone Rohit Chandra said.
The network, infrastructure for which would be supplied by Ericsson, would be rolled out to cover more than 100 towns and over 1,500 km of state and national highways in the J&K telecom circle, he said.
The company would set up more than 1,500 retail outlets for sale of its products in the state, he said, adding that exclusive branded sales outlets had also been set up in the state.
Aircel has also set up call centres to cater to needs of the customers in the state.
